EASTER

Is Easter.....a Biblical or pagan feast?

We all have fundamental choices to make; choices that affect how we see God, through the eyes of Moses and the Law, or through the eyes of pope Gregory and the Roman Catholic Church Tradition. The issue is quite simple: is Exodus 12:1 true? Did Jesus die 3 hours before the Jewish Passover? The first Hebrew month of the year is the month of Abib Exodus 13:4, 23:15, also known as Nisan Esther 3:7. The Passover was to be celebrated on the Exodus 12:6 14th of the month. For some 3000 years, Nisan was, and still is, the Hebrew first Month of the year. There are some 40 calendars in the world today, including Indian, Chinese, Muslim, Hebrew, and of course, good old pope Gregory’s Gregorian calendar, which fixed up the Julian calendar. I am sure you know, Jesus died on the Day of Preparation Mk 15:42 tells us Jesus died on the Day of Preparation, 13 Nisan, crystal clear, as 14 Nisan has always been the Passover, and a body must be taken down before sunset. Jewish days commenced at sunset, hence Jesus died on the 13th Nisan at 3.00pm. Lk 23:54 is so clear; Jesus died on Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin. The death of Jesus is so clear, when it happened; Jn 19:31 states as do all other Scriptures, it was the Day of Preparation; Preparation for what? Tomorrow, a special or “High” Sabbath as it is also known, that is Passover...Jn 19:31. Jesus died before the Special Sabbath or Passover, beginning at Sunset on the 13th of Nisan, therefore after sunset, being the 14th Nisan. His body was requested to be taken down Jn 19:38-40and Lk 23:52-53 because the Law said so Deut 21:23. The facts: Law of Moses given by God, tell us the Passover was to be on the 14th of the first month, known to the Jews as Nisan. Jesus died, and always died, only once, on the day before the 14th Nisan, Passover, at 3.00pm that is the 13 Nisan. His body, must be taken down before the night, and especially as tomorrow, at sunset on the 13th was actually the beginning of the 14th Nisan, was to be a Passover, Sabbath. This is an unarguable, indisputable Biblical fact, backed up by so many Scriptures. All we need to know, to commemorate the death of Christ, which however we are not asked to do, but are asked to remember him in the Lord’s Table; but if we wanted the Hebrew, Biblical, Scriptural day, when Jesus died, though we are not either commanded to, or asked to, nor do we have any Scriptural evidence for such, then, look for the 14th Nisan, Passover. Then look for the 13th Nisan, Day of Preparation, and there you have at 3.00pm Jesus death day. Look over the page, to see how the real Passover dates, for the past few and next few years are never the same. A church member was rudely accused about this issue; yet the facts remain, undisputable, when Jesus died. We have as Christians a decision to make; go with the flow, or stand up and be counted. Why change what God ordained, that Jesus died as our Passover Lamb? That is the whole meaning of the “Passover Lamb”. In the Old Covenant, when people did not obey God’s decrees, and Passover was a decree, that was known as rebellion. People say “throw out the Law, not needed; you might as well say throw out the New Testament, not needed, because the fact is, Jesus died 3.00pm on the Day of Preparation, Nisan 13th, this year, 7th April. So, the choice remains, do we follow a goddess of fertility, a spring goddess, a pagan rite, which the RC church took over, and thus “easter” falls on the first Sunday after the full moon 9th April, with “easter” shifting around depending on the moon, with dates varying each year, or do we, stick with Scripture, and attest to the truth, that Jesus died on the Day of Preparation. Each year, as a commemoration, without fail, as our Passover, 14th Nisan Lamb?

Please note; Easter fluctuates, each year on the Gregorian Calendar. The Passover, on the other hand, never fluctuates, but is always on the 14th Nisan. The corresponding date, of the Hebrew 14th Nisan, is given with Gregorian calendar dates. Jesus did not die, according to Gregorian dates, which the world generally follows; he died according to the Bible, Passover dates, as set by God, and given to Moses, which Jesus fulfilled.

There are 31 references to the Lamb in Revelation. The most amazing and sad part of the Passover tradition that has been lost is Paul’s injunction in 1 Cor 5:7 that Christ our Passover Lamb has been slain. It is clear, in the mind of the proliferous New Testament writer, that Christ is the Passover Lamb. We know the early Christian “church battle” was whether the church would turn “Jewish” via Peter or “Gentile” via Paul. This is exemplified in Gal 2:11-14, where Paul called Peter a hypocrite for eating with Gentiles, but as soon as James’ men arrived, he turned to Judaism principles of clean and unclean food. We know Paul sided with the Gentiles, and Judaism lost out with its ceremonies to the Gentiles. But without argument, James the leader of the church, made a clear decision after Paul and Peter spoke up, that the “New Church” Acts 15:19 should abstain by food polluted by blood, idols, sexual immorality. It was clear the new Christian  church, was to adopt a few major Jewish beliefs,  and these were and are binding on us today. These are well known facts. But why do we learn, even at college, a lot of “pointless” discussion on whether a woman has a veil or not, whether she can preach or not, yet I never ever heard one discussion on 1 Cor 5:8. It states “let us keep the Festival” being in the previous verse, the Passover. Clearly, Jesus is the Passover Lamb. Clearly 14th Nisan is the date for thousands of years for the Passover. Clearly the lamb had to be slaughtered on the 13th Nisan, as the Passover began sunset 13th Nisan, which when sunset arrived was the 14th Nisan as their days were sunset to sunset. Why, oh why do we not adhere to Paul’s injunction, as Christians, albeit Protestant Christians, and as he told us “keep” the Festival. Ahh….you tell me …that was spiritual what he meant, the bread of sincerity and truth. I will grant you that  it was meant to be spiritual. Then my question is; if we were not to keep the “literal” Passover, as Paul meant us to keep a spiritual Passover, then why, have we allowed, Roman Catholicism, to change (again) the Bible, and substitute ‘keep the festival’ with keep Easter. Few Christians see the stupidity of throwing out a literal Jewish Passover, spiritualising it, then placing over it, a literal pagan feast of fertility. If there is a festival, it is the Passover not easter. Why do protestant Christians, spiritualise a verse, then replace it with a literal pagan ceremony/interpretation? If you want a ceremony, obey Paul, if we believe Paul spoke under inspiration of God, then obey God, and keep the festival the Passover. Do not add or subtract to God’s word or he will prove you to be a liar. Deut 4:2; 12:32; Pro 30:6; Rev 22:18. Why do people, not spiritualise, but literalise, ‘women must keep silent in church’, yet fail to obey him in keeping the literal Festival? You can’t have it both ways. What is so sad to me, is countless of people were burned at the stake, by the Catholic church, in the name of “Christianity” when all these people did, or stood for, was the truth of God’s word. When will we realise, the blood of the martyrs, shed for us too, so we could have the Bible, keep the faith, was done for us, and our gratitude is we bow to Rome, and its pagan practices. When will we do, what the Reformation was about, and get back to the Bible and throw away these RC special days, easter and Christmas, and replace them with Biblical truth. As Paul said Gal 4:9-11, being enslaved again by special days, is a waste of time of spreading the gospel.   Have you stopped to think of the absurdity, that your death day, is not a date, but a day. Did Jesus die on the Day of preparation, 13th Nisan at 3.00pm or did he die on a Friday? What was special about the 13th Nisan, was that the Passover, Sabbath, was both a Passover and a Sabbath…the two coincided into one. But the Passover was not meant to be ALWAYS on a Friday, but always on the 14th Nisan. The pagans have said, Jesus died, every year on a Friday…like saying your birthday, has nothing to do with the date; but always, to do with the day. Silly. I was born on the 11th, irrespective of the day…but funny, Jesus always dies on a Friday…and some people believe it! I understand the difficulty of going against tradition…but that was Jesus difficulty too…Mark 7:13 “you nullify God’s word for the sake of tradition”. When will we keep the Festival, the Passover? If you let it go, the Word of God, surely, you must too let go the word of a pagan pope. That is why we are given the Lord’s table…Jesus said, and Paul taught…do this in memory of me. Not the Jewish Passover or the Catholic Easter, but the Biblical Lord’s Table.
