It's all a matter of perspective. It is how you see things. In any situation there are different perspectives. Which one is right? Can there be more than one perspective in a certain situation? 1 Sam 17: 19, Jesse, David's father, told him to take some cheese and other provisions, to David;s brothers. They were in the Valley of Elah, fighting against the Philistines. On its own, it means the soldiers were fighting a war. Blood everywhere. Death everywhere, broken limbs everywhere. A very sad scene to picture. Yet, in verse 24, it tells us, there is no fight. Every time Goliath came out from the lines of soldiers. all the Israelites soldiers ran from one person, Goliath. So, imagine - two lines of soldiers, facing each other, shouting and screaming but no fighting, then Goliath steps out of line formation, and the Israelite soldiers run away in fear. Where is the fighting? There is no fighting. None. There is line formation, then running away. Later, the brothers said David should tend to the sheep and not come to watch the battle verse 28. So, the people away from the battlefield thought there was a battle. The people on the battlefield, considered that when they are running away, that is a battle. But the reality and the truth is, there is no battle. Sometimes in life, we form ideas, opinions of what is going on, but there is nothing going on. We convince ourselves something is true, even convince others it is true; but it is not. It could be said it is a matter of perspective. Getting dressed up to do something, does not mean we are doing it. Preparing to do something is not the same as doing it. A list of ingredients sitting there, do not cook themselves. There must be action. All the materials to do a job does not mean it is done, there must be action. All the talk of being a Christian does not make a person a Christian. There must actually be an effort, to do something in Christianity, for a person to call themselves a Christian. All the two armies standing there, shouting at each other verse 20, a war cry, all talk is useless. Out of all these soldiers, imagine, only one, David, actually did something. Verse 49 he killed Goliath. He was the only one, who took action. One person. Are you that One Person, that actually does something? or are you in the line of soldiers just rattling the sabre? One man took action, now on the other side, the Philistines ran, verse 51. They ran because of one man. Now, the Israelites ran after them and killed Philistines. So, there was action on both sides because of one man's courage. What can you do? A lot. Just don't listen to all the talk. Look at things from Godly perspective. You can change people's lives. You can. Or you can just stand there, all dressed up and nowhere to go. Which is you?
