Have you thought what a new beginning is? A new start; both in the Bible and in life? Spiritually there is only one new start, when we are born from above, the second birth. In relationship to God’s forgiveness, we think of Lam 3:22-23. But what about new physical starts, in the Bible, but more so in your own life. How often can we do Factory Reset in our lives? If we look at the world, there was clearly a beginning with Adam and there is also a factory reset with Noah. All was wiped out, and restarted again. Then we wait a while, for another reset of life, when the Israelites came out of Egypt. 40 years in the wilderness, then another reset as they entered Canaan. Then another reset as they lost all and went into Babylon. 70 years later another reset. And finally in 56AD a final wiping out of Biblical Israel. The Israel in the world now, is a human Israel set up with the 1949 Charter of the United Nations, where a land called Israel was set up. Common only in name with the Biblical Israel, people of God before. The new reset, is now Spiritual Israel. This is the final reset. What about you? How many resets have you had? As for me, I have had so many starts in my life. Many new jobs. Changing of countries. So many resets in my life. Finally, I hope and believe I am in my final state of reset, place to live, since when the house was sold. This reset I hope will last me till the end of my days. Last job reset was 23 years ago. There comes a point in life, when you are tired of resets and just want to settle into a routine. I was talking to someone who is in a crisis in the loss of two jobs. Possible loss of accommodation. All savings gone. I can empathise. As the saying goes, been there and done that. Yet I do understand the stresses of it all. I have been there. I even went through Section 50 of the Bankruptcy Act. I went bankrupt. A Christian lawyer helped me with all the paperwork. All my debts wiped. I was able to start again with a clean slate. In this very difficult time, many people have hit a wall. It seems there is no way out. Yet, the LORD in his wisdom, does provide for a way out; we just have to find it. That is why Jesus said Mth 10:16. Doors are there. Options are there. We just have to look for them. Peter made a mess of all. And yet he was given a restart in work (ministry) in John 21: 15, 16, 17. Paul had a new job and a restart in life Acts 9: 6. These are both spiritual and human restarts; and the LORD may merge the two, or he may not. The fear is “where do I go from here “and many people are very apprehensive of a restart. When I went bankrupt, then served a period of time with no credit possibilities, I came out the other side, and I have never looked back. Many fear the unknown, but you never know unless you take the plunge. Is the end of a chapter and the start of another difficult? Yes. Now, start again. Don’t make the same mistakes as before.
