A time traveller came from the future to the present. When he arrived, he went to someone and asked…what year is this? The person looked at him and said….2020! The time traveller replied….ah…the first year of quarantine.
Life is always about changing circumstances. We make a decision, in one period of time, and that was the right decision for that time. But when situations change, all the decisions we had made must be reassessed and to see if they are still valid, in the first year of quarantine. And we must adjust to find a way forward, under a new given set of circumstances.
In the school life of my kids, I never ever attended even one PTA meeting. Why? Because I know how people view foreigners. Have had 23 years’ experience of this. Having never ever attended a PTA meeting, I therefore wave my rights to complain, and just abide by the decision of the school and the PTA. I know, full well, if I did not participate, I have no right to complain.
In the same way, I follow Biblical principles. Pro 11:14 shows the way for victory. Pro 15: 22 shows both the way to fail and the way to succeed. When we are asked for advice, we should do our best to give good sound advice. We may feel our advice is the super best advice. 2 Sam 16: 23 Ahithophel gave wonderful advice. Therefore, one would expect the advice is always good. And 2 Sam 17: 7 when the good advice, was rejected, 2 Sam 17: 14, it is the LORD who made sure, the good advice was rejected, because the LORD had a different set of plans.
We must accept, that advice is given, as God wants it given, without you even being aware, it is God’s well planned plan.
We must also accept, that every decision is made, because God says, that is the decision that will be made. So, good or bad advice, is from God, through people’s mouths. Good and bad decisions made, are also exactly what God wants, and he uses people’s particular train of thought, to reach that decision.
So, when we are asked for advice, we should always give it. Whether it is accepted or not, is not the issue. The issue is when asked for it, we should give it. If you do not give advice, when asked for, do not complain when decisions are made that you do not like. You did not respond to the call. Like me and PTA. I never complained. Why? I never gave input. (Of course, make sure, you give advice on the topic asked)
Pro 16: 33 states very clearly, every decision is from the LORD. What you decide to say, or not to say, what you decide to decide or not to decide - it’s all from the LORD.
2020, the first year of the quarantine. Bad calls of judgement. Terrible advice. But every decision is from the LORD. And it is only year 1. More to go, now that governments see they can lead people to slaughter with the power they have amassed.
But remember, all the laws of the world, stop at the road-side door of the church. Inside the church, is the law of God.
Let us participate, so we cannot complain. And if we cannot get our way, understand it is God’s decision. Stay strong.
