This is my reflection. The only thing is, is you get to read my thoughts. I am thinking of Adam, Jeremiah, People, God, sin, morality of saving all. God made Adam. Sinless. Adam sinned. All mankind is now conceived in sin. So, that includes you and I. So, before Jeremiah was born, God knew Jeremiah. Why did God not take away the sin, before Jeremiah was born, before he had done anything right or wrong? So God had Jeremiah born, with sin. Same as you and I. So, did not God have a moral responsibility to take the sin from Jeremiah, me, you, before we were born? He could easily have done that. (BTW, Jeremiah pre Christ, you and I post Christ). We know nothing is impossible with God. So, now we exist. Now we sin. Yet, Scripture is clear we cannot blame God for our sin, as we are each dragged away when enticed by the sin within. God said you must defeat the enemy, or they will be thorns in your side. God later said, I will not allow the thorns to be defeated. They remain. Sin remains. So then, how is it we are accountable, for what we cannot possibly resist? What is that? Sin? No. The plan of God that we will fall and fail. Seems very hard to grapple with. We are enticed, by the sin within, which God said must be there, and I will not remove it. At least, not yet; not until the last earth day (not withstanding, your last day too). So, sin, which God allowed within us, before we are born, conquers and almost destroys us, which is our fault. And in all this God says…trust me. Trust what? That in spite of all the circumstances being against you, if you believe in my Saviour, me, he will save you from your sins, which I decreed must happen. I plan birth of kids, born in whatever manner, thieves, drunkards, addicts – planned it before they were born. But trust me, I can also save you from the place I made, for the devil and his angels, and all who do not believe in me. Trust me. I will save you. Why? Because I said I will. I appointed you for salvation. From beginning to end, I have done it all. I reveal myself through my word, in so many different times, and yet always say…you do it, you are accountable, I do it, and I am not accountable to you. God is not accountable for why he planned the plan as he did. We are left as sinners, responsible for our sin. We cannot say – you planned my sin. Yes, God did, but he is not accountable as to why. God as God, decrees who is saved and who is not. God decrees who will fall and fail and who will fall and succeed. All will fall. It’s simply a question of how far and for how long. I try to understand it. I seem to have a ray of understanding then it gets lost in the self justification of my sin. Can God really blame me, for what I must do? Yes, he can. Its too complex. We do justify our sin. We do claim it is an inherent weakness. We do claim ..I am human; you made me like this. Yet, we must balance that with – God makes other people strong. I see people so much stronger than I am. I do not have the strength they do. They can say no. I can’t. Then again, I can say no in body, but fall in the mind. Maybe they too are falling in the mind? His promise that he made “he will save his people from their sin”. Thank God.
