Jesus said...follow me.....we know many disciples left their homes, families, businesses. Mth 4:19 . They remained strong....Eg John. He wrote Revelation. But Judas also followed. Paul said...follow me....as I follow Christ...2 Tim 4: 14...Alexander followed... like Judas followed. We can see many followed Jesus, Paul... and many fell back to the world. People new to the faith may see people who "commit" to the LORD, yet go back to the world. Why? Simon believed, was baptised, but was full of evil Acts 8: 29-23. Having just returned to House of Hope after 14 months, I can see many who have returned. Why? Didn't they get their certificates they were "born again". Yes, they got certificates, but were not renewed. They never surrendered to Christ. As I returned, I saw that this could be very confusing, to new residents. Questions in the mind raised, "is God real? Is God powerful? Are drugs more powerful than God?" The answer is quite simple. Eph 1:13 - 14. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit when you believe. Micah 3:8 I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD. Zechariah 4:6 not by might but by my Spirit says the LORD. it's not about God's power. God has power to change you. It's about does the Spirit live within you. If you have the Spirit you will go forward and never look back. How do you get the Spirit? Surrender whole heartedly.
