Some things are never ending. Like counting, we can count 1-10, but it does not end; we then move to 11, and onwards. Or in people we meet; we meet them, and they are gone; like a mist that vanishes, overnight; literally, overnight. People come and people go. Yet, I have people in my life from 34 years ago, the longest friend in time I have; from the beginning of my Christian walk, 1987. Not one person before my surrender to Christ, is in my life now. So, really, a New creation (2 Cor 5: 17). New life. New friends. New priorities. New focus. New perspective. New perceptions. New, all. If we think, as we did before we are saved, then we are not saved. Being saved is simple: 1 Cor 2: 16. This is such an easy verse to read. But what does it mean, to have the mind of Christ. Let me look at one example that 99% of Christians cannot understand. They just can’t. Why? Does it not mean, if we have the mind of Christ, we will think like Christ? I know we all fail and fall. We all do. But as I have said many times, keep your failures to yourself. Don’t let your failures involve one single person. So, lets again, go to the toughest test of all. A) But we have the mind of Christ 1 Cor 2: 16. B) What is his mind, in relation to Mth 12: 48-49? What is the mind of Christ in relation to Mth 10: 37? ) what is the mind of God in relation to Deut 33:9. D) What is the mind of Christ in relation to Deut 13:16? If there is any love that you have, higher than your love, attachment, devotion to Christ, then that is not God’s love. It is a falsehood, a delusion that you love Christ. How do we know if I love God more than family, or family more than God? An easy way is- you pray, you ask God for something. You recognise God gave it to you. You are happy. This is from God. YOU HEARD GOD and he gave you peace. You got what you wanted. You KNOW it is from God. You confessed with joy this is from God. Then you turn around and say- well God, my family comes before you. You were given what you wanted,. God gave it. Then your family asks you to do something in DISOBEDIENCE to what you declared is the voice, and peace of God. Now you disobey that very voice, and say “well God, family first”. That’s when you should realise, your family is your god. Few make it to God first, family 3rd. As all others are 2nd. So, God give me a job, to serve others. Commands 1 and 2. And you get it. And you say- good bye God and good bye others. And say- hello family, then call this OBEDIENCE to God. No, that is not the mind of Christ at all; that is the voice of the devil, telling you disobey the command of God to your heart. A text I got, to make this all true “but I need to obey and take care of my parents”. I guess God’s peace, God’s guidance, God’s call, God’s people, we can DISOBEY, so long as we obey parents. Really? What gospel are you reading? Mind of Christ?
