We are very familiar that everything happens in God’s perfect time. Many Scriptures attest to that. Here are a few:
Wait for the LORD. Be strong, take heart Psalm 27: 13
Those who wait on the LORD Isaiah 40: 31
A time and season for all activities Ecc 3: 1
Be still before the LORD and wait for him Ps 37: 7
Stay humble as you wait 1 Peter 5: 6
And to get to God’s perfect time? Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. How long should we wait for?, before we say “I cant wait any longer for you LORD, I will get it myself. What is it that you are waiting for? Life, death, marriage, children, divorce, a job, freedom and all of many other things. What exactly are you waiting for? We have all experienced waiting for something. Maybe years. Then it comes. Maybe after many years it arrive. And it may well feel like you were waiting, just a day or two, but it seems forever. Gen 29:20 So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her. As Jacob was waiting, at the end of it all, he could say “time flies”. But going through those 7 years, at times, must have seen like an eternity. He got what he wanted after 7, even though another 7 was added. But he had what he wanted. 7 years. I know a person, who used to be very sharp. One of the sharpest tools in the shed. And it’s not a matter of time, that has changed the concentration span, but rather it is a matter of time, waiting, that has changed the concentration span. How long LORD Rev 6: 10. In a timeless place, yet there is consciousness of time. Imagine, in eternity asking “how long?”. So, if they, in eternity, are conscious of time, which we learnt there is none of in eternity, how then can we, in non-eternity, or rather on earth, should be blamed for looking at the clock. And when we do, we most times wish it would speed up, to get to our desired goal, whilst in fact, we prefer time to stand still, till we arrive at our destination. Psalm 37: 7 is really difficult. Is 40: 31 sees the ebb of life. Yet in all this, we must both be happy and cry. Happy we are counted worthy to suffer in not getting what we desire, and cry because we have the strength of the LORD. Well, said Paul; who will rescue me? Keep waiting. It may or may not come. But we cannot have no hope. Onwards.
