One thing that keeps us going is when we overcome our failures within. These are very private and personal or very public and seen by all-our thoughts which God knows Ps 139: 2 are hidden, till we play them out. I was talking to someone recently who wanted to prove something to themselves. They did and succeeded. A personal victory. It may be from traversing a gorge, to talking in public without notes; when we achieve these things, we overcome our fears; we become victorious. These are our victories. No one else’s, just yours. We all have our mountains to climb. They are not the same. One struggles with one weakness of character; the other struggles in a completely different way. Maybe a personal victory is when someone stops having self-pity for themselves. Another person may always feel looked down upon....then the LORD opens their eyes to the meaning of...you are my child...and all that means; a child of God means you are important. Sometimes we are the biggest obstacle to our own victories because we can convince ourselves the mountain is too high to climb or the task is too great for us to accomplish. Sometimes the tests of life are our biggest failures as we do not see we can overcome these. What helps us Christians overcome our negative thoughts of ourselves: you are a failure; you will never succeed? A Word from God. I was talking to a person who was struggling in life. And they told me they got strength when they read a verse they had read many times; Be Holy Lev 19: 2. It inspired them that God really wanted them to be with him and this could only be achieved through holiness Heb 12: 14. This Word from God...available to all, but meaning nothing to most, was an inspiration in their personal victory. To have a personal victory, you must have a personal fight. You must realise there is something lacking within and then fight your mind to achieve to the point of overcoming. Through times of personal defeat, many people think in their mind God has left them. This is nothing but going for a further fall. What we must understand is that in our defeats the LORD is truly right there. Even when we do wrong he is right there. We need to experience the emotional trauma if you will, the guilt 1 Chron 21:8, in order to experience the great salvation of our great God, as he leads us out of the desert (when we fail many times) and into a place of victories green grass Ps 23: 2. Lie down- means comfort, peace, rest- green grass, contentment in the mind instead of war all the time due to guilt. We must undergo the desert to understand the freedom from the chains of the desert. These experiences of defeat and victory never end. They are a balance of our spiritual walk. And when we step out of the desert, the release of our individual captivity to whatever sin, maybe pride, or bitterness or anger; low self-esteem, personal private sin, when we come out of this desert of wrong thinking, God puts us on the luscious grass of right thinking. Once again we are captivated by God's awesome power of love for us. Yes, he gives the trial. It’s painful. So that we can taste the sweetness of personal victory. The victories will come. It is a matter how hungry you are to get out of the dry place you are in. Stay there, and it proves you have not understood salvation. Seek your way out of the maze of misery, entrapment, hardship. Don’t accept the weakness. Don’t. Fight for the way out. It will come. What is a personal victory? It is a victory, that in time, will become a testimony. But you must stay in the place of victory. You can reach your goal. You can achieve what you think you can’t. Just like, the light of hope for a change in your life situation is always there, so too is the light of change for you always there. Find the Words of God that set you free. Listen to the words of God that set you free. That is your personal victory, to achieve that which you want to achieve. Be the light
