The Past.....

Scriptures are very complex. There are absolute verses. People love these, or hide behind them... the LORD  says " I will remember their sins no more. In both the Old Testament  and New Testament.  Wow. Great. All my past sins wiped away. Super duper!! Umm... does it not say; I will judge every thought, every word, every action, every motive? Yes it does, in both OT and NT. The judgement, which must come, proceeds the... remember no more. The " remember no more'  is applied to salvation and eternity. But does not wipe away the judgement for things done as a Christian.  They stand . Now, vengeance is mine says the LORD. OT and  NT verses state this. So it's clear. God pays back for what is done. Sometimes we wait and wait and wait for God to right a wrong in our lives. And wait...David had as his enemy,  Joab, his commander in chief. God kept Joab alive all of David's life. And Joab was nothing but a pain to David. But David waited for God to take vengeance on Joab. God did not. For over 33 to 40 years, David loathed Joab for what he did. But kept him on. Waited 33 years for God. God did nothing. So at David's  death bed...he now, saw himself as the instrument of God's wrath and vengeance. So, after his death.....payback time. David instructs Solomon; kill Joab. Kill shimei. We need to see, how supremely patient and Godly David was. Few could live with such a pain in the heart. Daily. David did. Sometimes, situations are sorted out after death. Based on past actions, which have never been forgotten. Or in fact, judged. But there must come a day of reckoning. What, in your past, as a Christian,  needs to be reckoned with? Greed? Lust? Laziness?  Usurping authority? Failure to be obedient? Failure to be respectful? Time for the skeletons to come out.
