The Tension.....

We know that life is really difficult for most people. Pain and struggle. In the past few months, I have been really focused on September, when I leave for a few months. Is all ready? Are people ready? Should I go? Should I cancel? How many times must I repeat myself? I can make it. No I can't. Sleep, rest. No, I must work. All different manner of talking to myself, in order to find the balance, the middle, where I should be. Not on the extreme, but the balance. In one Scrtipture Gen 4: 7 You must Master Sin. So it can be mastered! On the other hand it says, 1 John 1: 8 if anyone does not sin, they decivie themselves. Ah, ok, I must master what I cannot master! Got it!! No wonder Paul said Rom 7: 24-25 what a wretched man I am. We are told to Lev 19:2 – Be Holy; Mt 5:48 – Be Perfect; Luke 6:36 – Be Merciful; Gen 17:1 – Be Blameless. And anyone who knows themselves knows, from a human perspective, they cannot meet the ideals they are supposed to. It is really for struggling. I must do this! I can't I am so tired. But come on, you must! I can't. You must, you can do all things through Him who gives you strength Phil 4: 13. We prevail, when we fight. Who said there is no fight? Not in my Bible. There is a fight within you. Almost in every situation, even in eating! Should I, shouldn’t I! The tension in our lives is being aware of the struggle, fighting our own mind, which wants to go earthwards. Col 3: 1 set your minds on things above…it is only then that we win our battles. We stay defeated when we cannot lift our minds above. Paul said, fight the good fight 2 Tim 4:7- which fight do you think this is? Its not demons we fight with, slashing the air. It is not flesh and blood we are fight, killing people. The fight, is the fight of perseverance, the fight of not giving up. The fight is knowing that you fall, fail but you know the LORD is there. Knowing it or not, we are just a part of a large army of people, who have fought themselves (and temptations fighting them) their minds, to the pooint of exhaustion, but have not given up. Jesus said Mth 23: 13 Those who persevere to the end, will be saved. Persevere in what? In fighting the good fight. Don’t stop fighting. Rest will come.
