Time Management.....

Time management is usually understood as a way to manage your time. Often at work, our bosses give us a set piece of work to do, and then we must learn how to maximise the time we have, so that we can complete all the work assigned to us. Usually, the boss knows, based on experience how long it takes to do a certain job. If you do not do that job, it may mean you have not been trained properly, the equipment is faulty, or you are too slow, or are too lazy. “No one ever told me” answers the first; :it’s broken so I couldn’t do it and didn’t know who to tell so I just waited for you” answers the second; “I have a headache or a back ache or the chair is uncomfortable “ answers the third; “I don’t like the job anyway and I need to rest” answers the last.

In time management, all people start off the same, but not all people finish the same. All have the same chance, same opportunity to succeed, yet in life, very few do succeed. They have never learnt to manage their time.

Imagine, just for a moment, something incredible happens, most unusual, a once in a lifetime event happens, you die. And then you stand before the Boss, and must give an account for your time management:

How much time you prayed to the Boss; you personally and privately read the Boss’s book, the Bible, or how much of your week you gave in service to the Boss’s people, helped in the life of the Boss’s family, met with the Boss’s family during the week (studies) met with the Boss’s family on Sunday (church); cleaned the Boss’s house (church)?

Imagine, just for a minute, you tell the Boss: you were too busy for Him; you were sick every Sunday or had work every Sunday (thereby you have told the Boss He is not your priority, and remember, or don’t forget, Sunday IS the Boss’s Day); sore feet to walk to studies every week, or no pesos to catch a jeepney every wee k didn’t like his family members anyway because they “hurt you”; and anyway, there was a paid worker to clean the church so no need to volunteer.

If you were the Boss, what would you tell the employee? Bahala na?

Imagine what the Boss will tell you?

2 Cor 5:10; Ezek 33:20; Ezek 24:14.

(The Boss is not Bruce Springstein, it’s God if you haven’t guessed).
