What star sign are you?…..

Someone once asked me that question.

People always want guidance, from one source or another. Some people are guided by entrails, the kidney or liver (Ezek 21:21). Some people are guided by the dead (Deut 18:10-11) or by divination. Some people are guided by the stars Deut 4:19. People always want to know which is the favourable time to move, or to buy things, or to stay at home. A neighbour of mine, whose faith was a mixture of Chinese and R Cath, said the stars were not aligned correctly, so he could not transfer his belongings to his new house.

People often look to astrology for these answers. Yet in Acts 7:42, we see astrology is actually itself a punishment from God. More of the same is often God’s way of punishing people. If they want involvement with astrology, they go in deeper. If people want idolatry then they will be punished by more idolatry. In Deut 28:36-37 we see that the people of God were to be punished because of their idolatry, and the punishment is more of the same. People, who were/are sexually perverted, homosexuality, will be punished by more of the same Rom 1:24-27, whether idolatry, more idolatry, or whether perversion, more perversion, the Lord’s way and punishment is clear, as clear as crystal. The punishment is more of the same.

But it is not just the “common” people who were guilty of astrology, but also kings and officials Jer 8:2 (loved, served, followed, worshipped, and consulted). Now who did Hilary Clinton consult? What was the dead wife’s name of the dead President?

Perhaps one of the worst examples of ‘leadership by example’ may be found in 2 Chron 33:1-9.

But in spite of all written so far, aren’t they able to still guide, even if they are ‘bad’? Is 47:13-15 tells us whether astrologers can guide or whether astrology it is an error. Also here we read what the end result of these predictors are, and also what influence they have on others. And also it tells us what will happen to those who love the horoscope.

As I said, they asked me ‘what star sign are you?’ My reply was…..the star of David.
